Zac Aquino is a self-taught artist from Washington State. His first inspiration for art was inspired by ancient Filipino tattoos. His art represents growth, the exploration of oneself, self-love, balance, and learning to express yourself through art and creativity.

The spearhead and weaving pattern is found across the many different Austronesian cultures and people, from the Filipino, Hawaiian, Samoan, and many more. The design represents the warrior, protection, and courage in battle and headhunting. You will find it in different textiles, baskets, tattoos, and art. The pattern symbolizes the strong bonds between families and clans needed to hold society together.
